Cuesta Partners is looking for a leader to build around, for an in-house near-shore data and analytics delivery capability in Latin America. This leader will be the main point of contact for the office, which will build a team charged with helping clients establish modern data technologies. Resources will include data engineers, data architects, data visualization resources and possibly user experience designers.
As a member of the data practice, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and build various green field areas, making a lasting impact on our clients’ data landscape – in addition to supporting the build out of the in-house capability. Your mission will be to deliver end-to-end data solutions, leveraging your expertise to unlock valuable insights and drive actionable decisions. As the driving force behind recruiting, hiring, and retention of talented data specialists, your contribution will be key to unlocking insights from our client’s data.
You will ensure that high quality data engineering and architecture talent joins the Cuesta brand, and is inspired to grow with the firm. Your expertise in managing teams that develop and optimize data technology environments will be instrumental in driving our data initiatives forward. This role also works with HR, legal, finance and other general management functions to create an office environment and culture fitting for high quality analytics talent. While the role is remote to the US, occasional travel to the United States may be required for critical sessions. Our goal is to build an office that is fully client facing and an integral part of the team.
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of relevant experience in data and analytics, 10+ years in leadership roles
- Experience managing budgets, resources, legal & compliance items, and facility projects
- Prior experience with technologies for data pipelines, data warehouse and visualization
- Expertise in relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, data management, and data warehouse is a plus
- Experience recruiting, hiring, and performance management
- Experience with office management, including real estate and facilities, budgeting, legal and compliance, security and business continuity
- Capability to think critically and solve problems
- Ability to foresee roadblocks and issues in advance and propose solutions / mitigations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- A master’s degree in business administration is helpful but not required
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or computer & information science is helpful but not required
What You'll Do
Office Leadership
- Establish a near-shore in-house data delivery capability in an attractive office setting
- Build a new office culture from the ground up, hiring and inspiring great data talent for client delivery projects
- Follow best practices in recruiting and retention, aligned with Cuesta core values
- Establish close communication with team members to align best practices, exchange information effectively, and collaborate for continuous improvement
- Quickly triage office problems and remediate or mitigate impact
- Act as the on-site liaison, hosting visitors and facilitating team-building activities
Technical Leadership
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying new tools and practices that can help the company achieve its strategic goals
- Establish consistent communication mechanisms with project delivery teams
- Support the business during critical downtimes and releases
- Follow all IT auditing and systems access control processes
- Support facilities problems through troubleshooting and escalations
- Establish relationships across the organization to build networks and leverage experts
