Mechanical Engineer
Full-time position based in Luxembourg City

OffWorld is a robotics startup working on developing a mobile robotic workforce for heavy industrial jobs on Earth, Moon, asteroids & Mars. OffWorld was founded by an experienced engineering team drawing on decades of tackling formidable engineering challenges at NASA, ESA, NOAA, Maxar Technologies, CERN, Reaction Engines, SAFRAN, Surrey Satellites and Cisco. OffWorld’s first challenge is developing and maturing a modular robotic system for extreme environments on Earth. Our robots will go deeper underground and further on Earth than humans can, eliminate the need for humans to work in life-threatening environments in mining, construction, tunneling and other dangerous industries, and dramatically reduce the environmental footprint and cost of operations in key economies on Earth and beyond.
OffWorld Europe SARL, based in Luxembourg, is an affiliate of OffWorld, Inc. (OffWorld US), with its headquarters in Los Angeles, California. Combined with its South Africa & Australia operations, OffWorld currently has over 75 team members and over 6,000 sqm of engineering facilities. OffWorld Europe is focused on developing and deploying modules for the extraction and storage of resources on the Moon.
OffWorld Europe is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in transforming the future of heavy industrial jobs on Earth, Moon, asteroids, and Mars. This role is critical in ensuring the successful development of our robotic workforce for extreme environments.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop CAD files and documentation for manufacturing and testing.
- Support manufacturing decisions and liaise with mechanical workshops to develop parts on time and schedule.
- Perform and support inspections of procured and manufactured parts and equipment.
- Be hands-on in building and testing of electromechanical systems.
- Create drawings and system specifications.
- Work closely with colleagues to integrate mechanical/fluid/thermal/electrochemical analyses into the design process.
- Prepare technical reports.
To hit the ground running, you need:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical and/or structural engineering.
- 1-3 years' experience in CAD design and prototyping.
- Well-versed in the design and development of electromechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience in building and testing electromechanical systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with in situ resource utilization systems is an asset.
