Applications are invited from motivated and enthusiastic candidates for fixed term 18 month internships starting in October 2023, February 2024 and May 2024. Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English and must have at least one year’s experience of clinical practice in the UK and be registered with the RCVS. The Liphook Equine Hospital internship is a BEVA Recognised Internship.
The successful candidate will join a team of 5 interns working in the hospital alongside the 11 EBVS and RCVS recognised medicine, surgery and diagnostic imaging specialists. Interns are closely involved in all diagnostic investigations as well as the treatment and hospital care of inpatients. They will be trained in providing general anaesthesia and pre-, intra- and post-operative care of surgical patients. The hospital’s referral caseload is large and varied with a mixture of elective and emergency work providing interns with wide-ranging experience in all aspects of equine hospital practice.
The OOH rota is equally shared amongst the interns. Off-site accommodation is provided in a shared house in a nearby village with a flat in the hospital for use when on call.
